His Art comes to life and moves to the music that he creates for it. Having so many people believe in what he does, gives him the inspiration for doing his very best. His father was a telented craftsman, author, and artist. His mother is a Masters Juliard graduate, who performed at Carnegie Hall at age fourteen. Carter was influenced and encouraged early in the Arts by both of his parents. He is a musician and percussionist in several bands. Carter’s first artwork was published at age fifteen. He volunteers teaching Art at an elementary school where his wife also teaches first grade. Carter has attended both Longwood University and Appalachian State University.
He is a Music and Art teacher in his private school in Clarksville, Virginia. He is the youngest of eight children, all of whom have been teachers.
Marta has also written a book entitled Proud People, which pays tribute to Native Americans. This idea prompted her to write The Tale Of Gail The Snail. Marta believes that by combining Music and Art with poetry, young readers ability for comprehension will be enhanced. She also plays several musical instruments including piano, guitar, and violin. There, she continues to teach general Music to elementary school aged children.īesides teaching, Miss Gonzalez loves composing music, singing, and creating various multicultural crafts. In May, 2000, she completed her degree from Bank Street College in New York City, and relocated to South Hilll, Virginia. Marta graduated from Manhattanville College in New York, with a Bachelors of Music degree in Education.Īfter teaching various subjects, including Music, Art, Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade, she decided to pursue her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. In her own words: "Busy parents these days, with both moms and dads working full time don't have enough hours in the day or they just don't get the opportunity to go over these little life lessons with their children. She is an average grandmother who has decided to write a collection of her favorite stories to share with children everywhere. Golden Gram has always enjoyed reading stories. The right choices made by Gail will build good character and will serve as an example of how and why we should always choose to do the right thing. As Gail finds herself in the middle of this huge dilemma she is forced to make some major decisions completely on her own. This kind of temptation is what so many of our children are faced with on any given day. They are more like a fuel to the fire within her. Adding to the problem are mischievous playmates and they are far from helpful to our little friend. In this story Gail is forced to make a choice about whether or not to go along with the crowd or stand up and do the right thing.
